Megan Jacob
May 27, 1982 - November 23, 2005

"Megan Jacob was a beautiful human being who touched many lives. She was driven by her cause for the National Bone Marrow Program by single handedly gathering thousands of donors which may some day help save the lives of many in the future. Sadly, she was unable to save her own life; on November 23, 2005 we lost this angel of a human being. She battled Hodgkin's disease for many years, and was relentless in her fight, and now our world has lost her warmth. We the brothers of Delta Epsilon Psi are grateful to have been touched by her golden heart and are deeply saddened by her loss. We will never forget you Megan, thank you for the person you were and will always be in our hearts."

NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY

Juvenile diabetes is a disease which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.  In juvenile diabetes, a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone that enables people to get energy from food. Juvenile diabetes usually strikes in childhood but lasts a lifetime. People with juvenile diabetes must take multiple injections of insulin daily or continuous infusion of insulin through a pump just to survive.

Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $800 million in direct funding to diabetes research. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education. JDRF's mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Learn More »
